Maddie developed a passion for dance from a very young age of 5 years old. Born and raised on the sunshine coast, she continued her dance training here at SCPAC for 13 years in all styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, acrobatics and musical theatre. Throughout that time, Maddie completed RAD ballet exams and CSTD Tap and Jazz exams. She competed in eisteddfods and competitions all over the coast in all genres of dance both in a team and as a soloist.
At the age of 15, Maddie found her love for commercial jazz and hip hop as she began to seek unique styles from choreographers from different parts of the world. She participated in multiple workshops and master classes and was thrilled to be in Sydney 3 years in a row for the Australian Dance Festival where she competed and gained knowledge and experience from the strongest choreographers in commercial jazz, hip hop and contemporary. While in Sydney, through auditioning processes, she was offered full-time training positions at 2 of the leading schools in the area. Maddie also gained further experience through participating in several cruise ship auditions including the royal Caribbean and Carnival cruise lines.
Maddie is studying full-time at the University of the Sunshine Coast in a bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science. She has thoroughly enjoyed teaching jazz, contemporary and hip-hop to children from 3- 15 years old for the last 2 years at several private dance schools including SCPAC and is thrilled to continue to work with the SCPAC kids in 2016!
