Dancing is an expression of the soul. At SCPAC, dance lessons are offered to children from the age of 2 up to Adults. Students aged 2 to 4 years can enjoy a 45 minute dance lesson which is introducing them to Jazz, Tap and Ballet. Students 5 and 6 years have specific classes designed for the students in half hour classes of Jazz, Tap, Ballet and an introduction to Hip Hop. 7 year old students have specific classes designed for the student in a 45 minute class of Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Hip Hop. From 8 years through to Adults the classes are specifically designed in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Hip Hop for 1 hour. SCPAC also offers Musical Theatre, Acrobatics, Acting & Drama classes.

This team is a collection of talented singers, dancers, actors that perform in professional production throughout Queensland. The elite team perform at many promotional event including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle promotional show at Under Water World, Cadbury Promo shows, Movie World, Sea World and the list goes on.

By invitation only students must be from 13 years of age and enrolled in Dance, vocal tuition and drama classes at SCPAC to be eligible for the professional team.

Acting and drama classes for children encourage self expression, communication skills and self confidence.

SCPAC offer classes to students from 6 years, beginners through to advanced. The drama classes lead to stage productions and drama eisteddfods. Drama is an essential subject within the performing arts, a must for any students wanting to pursue a career in the performing arts.

Acrobatics Lessons

Acrobatics is an important aspect of the performing arts and is very beneficial in the flexibility of the dancer.

SCPAC Acrobatics classes are fun, exciting and a great subject for Male and female students from 6 years of age.

Acrobatics is fun, creative, skillful and an entertaining form of dance. Our classes include a warm up, flexibility, cartwheel, round off, flips and the art of balancing and posture.

Acrobatics is especially important in combination with Hip hop. In 2009 SCPAC will be having an competitive Acrobatics team, this subject is compulsory if participating in this team.

Musical Theatre

Vocal, dance and musical theatre

Singing is a very important aspect of the performing arts and together with dance gives our students the edge over any other dance school. It is very important to be able to sing, dance and act in the professional field there for we pride ourselves in offering the song and dance/ musical theatre classes to students from 6 years.

Many of Bonnita’s past and previous students have gone on to the professional field including Emma Cooperthwaite who at 10 years gained the role as “cosette” in the professional musical production of Les Miserables. Dane Sheddon from playing “Peter pan” in Disneyland to his successful audition acceptance to WAAPA.

Tap Dance Classes

Glenn Wood Barre and Centre Combinations. Syllabus includes Slow, Waltz & Speed Tap from a Modern Funky style tap to traditional

SCPAC offer classes in the Glenn Wood Method of Tap Dancing which is now used by hundreds of dance school throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, America and United Kingdom.

The GWT style of Tap is fast and rhythmic, challenging dancers with interesting combinations and routines which are enjoyable to learn and exciting to perform.

Every year SCPAC have proudly achieved a 100% pass rate in the tap examinations.

Jazz Dance Classes

FATD Barre and Centre Work Limber, and conditioning

SCPAC offer classes in Jazz dancing. This style is both traditional and modernized to give students a broad spectrum of jazz dancing and it many forms. Jazz can be performed to 60 ’s music through to the latest hits. FATD Exams are offered to students from juniors through to senior years.

With 100% pass rate every year, we are proud to say the majority of our students have gained the highest mark of Honours and Honours plus.

Hip Hop Dance Classes

SCPAC Freestyle hip hop

Every year SCPAC research to offer the most up to date styles of hip hop. SCPAC do not offer exams for this style although we would have to be one of the most successful hip hop style schools on the coast winning almost every hip hop competition entered throughout Queensland. Hip Hop is a fantastic energetic style of dance for students from beginners through to advanced. SCPAC now offer a new specialized Teenage Beginners hip hop class for students 13 years and over.

Lets not forget the popular adult hip hop classes for beginners and intermediates, it’s a great way to get fit and meet new people with the same interest.

By Invitation only SCPAC offer the Classical Ballet Excellence program to students with a talent for classical, neo classical and contemporary dance. There are three programs for junior, Intermediate & Senior students. The program involves intensive classical ballet training at the barre, centre work, strength , flexibility, pas de deux, pointe work, dancers health, limber, stretch, conditioning and choreography.

The Junior Team were awarded the Outstanding Classical Ballet Group award for 2008 at the Noosa Dance Festival, many of the students of these classes have gained 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the following categories, Classical Ballet solo, duo, trio, Classical Group, Contemporary Solo, Neo Classical Solo, Contemporary Group and Neo Classical Group. They were also awarded Most outstanding Classical at the FATD awards 2008.

SCPAC is proud to be an elite Federal Association of teachers of Dance syllabus school. A large majority of SCPAC students participate in ballet examinations each year. Over 7 years SCPAC have had a 100% percent pass rate with many of the highest marking of honours and honours plus students. In 7 years SCPAC have had 2 major examination students both scoring honours with distinction which is the highest possible mark to pass as qualified FATD Teachers of Classical Ballet.
